Design for audiences

How would you make the world a better place?

this is what we were asked today. Of course we came up with lots of things to do with the government, global warming (which I don't believe in), economy and pandas.ha.
One thing that really stood out for me was manners. After working in the swimming baths for 3 years I have come to realise that people just aren't as nice I have always thoughtt....and its getting worse...children are SO cheeky!!! they have no respect!! when I was little there is no way I would have dared answer back to an adult! or just completely ignore what they say.
But its not jut children...the adults are sometimes worse! I tell them not to throw their child across the swimming pool...as it is quite dangerous...they look at me asif Im stupid and continue to sling their child from one part of the pool to the next.

So for me...manners are something that needs to be changed...the whole attitude of being nice to each other...is it really that hard?

For the brief we have to take something a group/organisation that already exists and act on it. So if the group wants to raise money...I have to try it out for myself. Because it is easy enough for us to jut sit here and say donate money....but when it comes to actually doing it...do you have what it takes to actually give away your own money.

This is why I am thinking about the phrase 'manners cost nothing'...this is my starting point.

Im going to start researching...

i decided to research:
-the smile high club-basically gets people to smile more
-Depression campaigns-making people more aware of depression
-bullying campaigns-making people more aware of bullying.

From these I have decided to choose bullying as I feel the campaign is so easy to do (all you have to do is make them your search engine and yahoo will donate money every time you browse). I also feel quite strongly for the campaign as I have experienced it more than once. so yeh...my campaign is about bullying!

I had my first crit on this project with Graham today. It seemed to go quite well! he liked the content...just my layout was a bit terrible as I had too much information on each line etc. So I now know what I need to do for next week. I need to start asking people about the effects of bullying they have had, then thinking of 3 concepts, asking my target audience their views on my concepts then coming up with three ideas using one of the concepts.
